SEARSON:

The musical experience SEARSON, features the talents of the SEARSON sisters, Colleen on fiddle, Erin on piano and Heather on bass to create a showcase full of their talents as musicians, singers, songwriters and some amazing step dancing.

Searson has expanded the musical culture from where they grew up in The Ottawa Valley, Ontario, Canada, to a create contemporary sound based on their heritage, the musical traditions of the first groups of immigrants to arrive there, the English, the Scottish and the Irish.

Searson’s great grandfather played the fiddle and their father plays guitar, so it was natural that the girls learned to play instruments and perform traditional favorites in song, on fiddle and with step dancing.  When they were very young, Searson would perform at local events and house parties in the summer and throughout high school and university the girls performed almost every weekend.

Filling in all the roles of agent, manager, promoter and performer Searson hit the road full time and performed at festivals, concert halls, clubs and pubs across Canada.  They also opened up a new market for themselves by performing across the Eastern United States. Searson recorded their first full length album when Colleen was only 12 years old and since then have recorded 3 more including their first US national release, ‘LIVE’  on which the listener gets captivated by the energy of  the band’s live show.

Over the years Searson’s early traditional style has now expanded to reflect other music the band enjoys including rock, country and folk music.  Searson has had the pleasure of performing with artists such as Leahy, Sam Roberts Band, Natalie MacMaster, Matt Mays & El Torpedo, Blue Rodeo, Jann Arden, Spirit of the West, The Wilkinsons and the Five Man Electrical Band.
