Raises more than $400 for Syracuse’s 174th Fighter Wing

(Syracuse, NY February 2, 2010) FocalPoint Federal Credit Union recently saluted local troops with a fundraising drive that raised $400 for the families of Syracuse’s 174th Fighter Wing.
Last week, FocalPoint CEO Marilyn Marra-Crolick presented a check for $400 to Terry Scanlin, head of Syracuse’s 174th Fighter Wing Readiness Group. This money will go into a fund to help struggling military families make ends meet while their loved ones are deployed overseas.
From Nov. 30 through Jan. 4, FocalPoint raised donations at its Syracuse branch, located at 6555 Ridings Road and its Chittenango branch, located at 278 Genesee St.
“Men and women in the military give so much of themselves in an effort to protect this country,” said Marra-Crolick, “We felt it was only right to do what we could to give back to them.”
The 174th Fighter Wing Family Readiness Group works to enhance the quality of life for National Guard members, their families and the communities they live in. If the family of a soldier in the 174th Fighter Wing is struggling while the soldier is deployed overseas, the funds in the Readiness Group account can be used to make life a little easier. The money will be used this Easter to help a family in need.
