Syracuse, NY – simply new theatre, inc., would like to personally invite you to witness Trumbo: Red, White and Blacklisted, a one act show that explores the tribulations and triumphs of screenwriter Dalton Trumbo.
Trumbo was a man whose screen writing genius was behind such films as The Brave One, Spartacus and Roman Holiday. This production is a revealing verbatim example of some of his communications with family, friends, and enemies by this screenwriter, husband, father, friend, and prisoner. Trumbo is the story of Dalton Trumbo, lovingly complied by his son Christopher from the writings of the man himself. While Dalton Trumbo may have been forced to hide his name behind empty pseudonyms, and watch others accept awards that were rightfully his, Trumbo still manages to find the humor and heart within his exile
Vividly portrayed by seasoned actor Bill Molesky and directed by John Nara, simply new theatre, inc. is proud to produce a production that asks us to examine our right to judge our fellow American’s for their political affiliations. Tom Ciangalini portrays Christopher Trumbo and Emmett Van Slyke accompanies the entire production with his original guitar compositions.
Trumbo runs Friday, November 27th and Saturday, November 28th at 8 p.m. in the BeVard Studio at the John H. Mulroy Civic Center in Downtown Syracuse. TICKETS ARE FREE! Email: johnnara@simplynewtheatre.com for Reservations!
